Peer Review Work

Having a peer review worship can help elevate the writing done in our essays. Some positives of observing fellow writers is having the ability of seeing how they took the thesis, seeing how our classmates back up their claims, and how they incorporate in cite quotations into their writing. For the second essay, I was able to get advice and compare my writing to my peers’ work. An example of a con for peer reviews is making the same mistake as one of your classmates. Sometimes the best thing to do is to double check with your professor before you make any critical changes to your own writing. There is a lot of trust needed to take advice from your peers.
I was able to make use of the peer review workshop by correcting my in-+cite questions with correct grammar. A classmate pointed out my mistake and I was able to correct the error with the class. In return, the whole class got to make sure their grammar was correct too. Peer reviews enable us to learn together from common mistakes made in writing. I was also able to justify my explanations with my group. Explaining my thesis to my break out room made me feel way more confident in my writing.
When reading the comments from my peer reviews, I was able to see that I had an imbalance of summary and discussion in my essay. Compared to my peers, I felt like this was a common mistake across the board. I realized that I needed some more analysis and discussion in my essay to back up my thesis and retellings of the Gladwell and Chen essays. I decided to talk about a big social movement that had started on the internet. That body paragraph really elevated the argument that I was making. Without this discussion I had developed, I do not think that I would have liked the finished writing project. I was able to go back into my essay and add more discussion and opinions.
