My name is Fiona Caffrey. I am contacting you to express my interest in the dental hygienist position at your dental office. After reading the position requirements, and as a new graduate from the dental hygiene program at the University of New England, I believe that I am qualified for this position.
Throughout my academic experience at the University of New England, I have developed clinical skills and core values that are needed in dental hygiene. I have around 560 hours of clinical experience. This includes updating medical and dental history, periodontal charting, treatment planning, radiology, adult prophylaxis, and SRPs. I demonstrate leadership qualities when treating patients because I am time efficient and also give optimal patient care. In past job experiences, I have become an expert in customer service and making people feel comfortable in situations that may not be ideal. I believe I show an empathetic demeanor that makes patients feel comfortable and decreases dental anxiety.
Securing this position would help me advance my clinical skills and professional development as a dental hygienist. I am excited to further my experience as a dental hygienist.
